Joe´s Tip: Costa Rica Whale and Dolphin Watching. Do you know…?

JOE: Do you know the Golfo Dulce is the only place in THE WORLD where whales migrate from both hemispheres to teach their young to hunt and dive?

Humpback whales are seen in two well defined seasons from December to March from the northern hemisphere, while those from the southern hemisphere start to be seen in the first weeks of July to late October, contributing to the longest humpback whale season in the world.

These gentle giants are regularly seen along with bottlenose and spotted dolphins throughout Drake Bay, located on the western flanks of the peninsula. In all, over twenty five species of dolphins and whales either permanently reside in or pass through this region while migrating.

The most commonly observed whales are the humpbacks. They are known for their long migrations north side and south side.  Whale Watching & Dolphin Tourin Costa Rica search for humpback whales, listen to their love songs and feel the great sensation of watching a mammal that weighs more than 40 tons jump out of the water and splash its gigantic tail. Snorkel and observe dolphins, turtles and a diverse and wonderful marine life. Occasionally, you can see whale teach its baby to breach. Dolphins are seen throughout the year. The most commonly seen dolphins on the Pacific coast are the bottlenose dolphins, commonly known as dolphins and spotted dolphins.

Consejos de Joe

¡Saludos Amigos!

Conducir en Costa Rica – Go Easy

Golf Vacation in Costa Rica – Go Easy

Few places in the world offer the amazing variety of natural beauty and environment Costa Rica can provide. This has made it possible for Costa Rica to allow some of golf´s best designers to create an amazing golf experience for its visitors.

The courses are challenging and beautiful at the same time, as they reside close to the dramatic deep blue waters of the pacific coastline as well as close to the green volcanic mountains of the central valley.
Golfers from the US and Canada will find that Costa Rica is very accessible from the whole continent and the prices keeps dropping. Once in Costa Rica you can besides the golfing also enjoy luxury vacations with all inclusive in tropical heavens like Los Sueños Marriot Ocean & Golf resort.

You can also find fine cuisines, hot nightlife and family activities everywhere, so everybody in the family will find their preferred vacation activity among one of the friendliest peoples in the world, the Ticos! While touring Costa Rica visit and play golf courses like,

Parque Valle del Sol with its par 72, 6782 yards 18 hole course. Created by Tracy May or go north to the coast and try out the 18 hole course Hacienda Pinilla, a par 72, 7274 yards beauty created by Mike Young.
Some tips for a better golfing experience in Costa Rica.

* Check with your airline to see if they charge excess baggage fee for golf clubs.

* The least expensive form of transportation around the country, especially with a lot of golf clubs is to rent a car.

* Rainfall is a problem in the late afternoon and evening during the green season. Green season is from mid-May to mid-November, but the months of July and August normally see less rain and generally are beautiful with mild temperatures.

* Apply sun block before leaving for the golf course. Use shades and hat.

* Golf courses have dress code. The normal requirements are normally golf shirts with collars for men and proper attire for women. T-Shirts, bathing suits and short shorts are not permitted.

* Wildlife sensitive areas are common in Costa Rica. Take note of and respect signage for safety.

* The saying trees are 90% does not apply to dense tropical trees. Tree lined fairways is an expression that really has been taken to a completely new level here. So stay on the fairway.

* When playing at the resort ocean courses, you will have to learn how to play the wind. You have strong winds from the sea almost all year. Use the tree tops to get a feeling for the wind.
Want a perfect vacation with wonderful golfing experiences, go to Costa Rica!

Costa Rica le gana a Mexico 2-1

Why Costa Rica Real Estate is so popular? Go Easy

Costa Rica is a place where people can spend their free time with the family and friends and eventually retire. Costa Rica is a place where people are friendly, where friends are easy to find, where the foods are organic and where we let our kids and grandkids play without worrying that something bad will happen to them.

There are many reasons why people love Costa Rica but recently Costa Rica has gotten popular because people are tired of big resorts and all inclusive vacations that don’t feel natural. People are looking for something more than just hanging out at the beach in Maui or Cancun. People are looking to Costa Rica as an affordable tropical paradise where they can have their own palm tree and a small cabana near secluded a beach. With a little more than 25% of its lands under some category of protection, it’s easy to understand why eco-tourism is so popular in Costa Rica.

There are more than 161 national parks, biological reserves, wildlife refuges, wetlands, protected zones and other parks and reserves in Costa Rica. The newest national park is Quetzal National Park, located in the high mountains of the southern Pacific region between Cartago and San Isidro.

While coming to the real estate Costa –Rica is having really cheap real estate, one of the reasons that Costa Rica real estate is so popular is that it cost up to seventy percent less than properties of the same type elsewhere like in the United States. The cost of living is better in Costa Rica improving people’s standard of living. And one of the reasons why the peoples are getting more interested in having a property at Costa-Rica is the infrastructure and the amenities are very good and are a part of a big foreign community close to the United States.

Costa Rica is a country that is considered to be safe for all who live there. Plenty of outside investment has been coming into Costa Rica real estate to Costa Rica from outside the country. The U.S. has led the way, of course, but there are lots of investors from Canada and Western Europe. Costa Rica is expected to boom again due to the continuing tourist influx into the country, the high returns that real estate investment yields here, and the increasing scarcity of land in some places.

Demand for real estate will continue to grow in Costa Rica with very good potential and low risk. There may be other countries in this region that may take off however the risk could be a lot higher. You can always have a safe choice in Costa Rica real estate that promises good potential. This is why there are so many investors that are interested in Costa Rica real estate. For years to come property prices will grow more all the time.

How to Dress for Trip to Costa Rica? Go Easy

Dressing properly for a trip to Costa Rica is very much dependent on the type of experience you plan to have. If you laze around on the beach for your entire trip, your clothing needs will be vastly different from those you’d need to head into the rain forest or up the slopes of a volcano in Costa Rica. The climate is tropical overall, but a variety of micro-climates means you might need to carry a few extra items.

Step 1: Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and casual footwear on the plane. For safety, do not wear high heels or thong sandals that might cause you to trip or slip off during an emergency. Hide a money belt beneath your clothing. These come in styles that fit around your waist or hang from your neck, keeping your important documents and cash out of sight and on your person.

Step 2: Wear long sleeves and full-length pants legs if you plan to participate in one of the country’s many eco-adventures. This will help prevent bites by mosquitoes, which can carry malaria or dengue fever. Cover your skin when heading into jungle or forested areas to avoid contact with plants that can irritate your skin. Wear or carry a bandanna for its many versatile uses — it can serve as a washcloth, bandage and head covering. Carry a lightweight jacket that is waterproof for higher elevations, rain showers and cool nights. Wear footwear that encloses your entire foot and carry a spare pair of socks to change during the day. Instead of hiking boots, choose a trail shoe made of material with good ventilation and that provides solid traction.

Step 3: Dress in light layers. Fabrics are made for the outdoors that wick sweat away from skin, dry quickly and are often antibacterial. Prevent accidental loss of important items by including cargo-style pants with zippered pockets in your wardrobe.

Step 4: Pack at least two swimsuits for the beach or poolside. This will allow you to wash and dry one without missing any time in the water. Wear a light layer of clothing over your suit for sun protection. Include a hat and sunglasses with UV shielding to help spare your face and eyes from some of the more intense rays. Consider purchasing beachwear made with special fabrics that include UV shielding and the ability to stand up to chlorine and saltwater. Many of these fabrics also are made to help regulate temperature so you don’t suffer from trapped layers of hot or cold air against your skin.

Step 5: Leave your jeans at home and substitute clothing made of alternative materials for anything made of cotton. The high humidity will likely make you miserable in cotton and the material might be difficult to dry in the climate. Cotton is known to trap and hold moisture, which will weigh you down, make you uncomfortable and can lead to skin problems. Source: USA Today:

Campeonato Mundial de Aventura Costa Rica 2013 – Go Easy

What’s For Breakfast in Costa Rica?

What can you expect to eat for breakfast during your Costa Rica vacations? Well I guess it all depends where you stay.

Many hotels in Costa Rica serve buffet style breakfasts where you can get anything you want – fruit, cereal, eggs, bacon, yogurt, etc. etc. But then that would be the similar wherever you are the world from London to Beijing.

If you want to go local and get the breakfast enjoyed by Costa Ricans, you can go to a local eatery called a soda or a restaurant that serves breakfast. Just as in North America, it could be a quick bagel or toast or cereal, in Costa Rica it could be fruit salad or just cornflakes with banana. However, if you have more time, then you have many options. Gallo pinto, sometimes served with bread dipped in sour cream, eggs – scrambled with onions or fried in tomato sauce. There are also corn pancakes called chorreadas. If you have a sweet tooth, there are also pastriesplain cake and pineapple patties. If you see a cake calledTres Leches (three milks), it is a Tico favorite. Three sorts of milk (evaporated, condensed and just regular milk) are poured over the cake with whipped cream on top.
Gallo pinto (rice and black beans) is the staple food of Costa Rica and can be eaten for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We recommend gallo pinto with scrambled eggs and a tortilla.

What do you drink for breakfast in Costa RicaCoffee, of course! Home grown Costa Rican coffee is famous around the world and where better to enjoy it. You can get a one day coffe tour visiting a coffee plantation to learn more. Herbal teas are also widely available. If you want something sweet, then a local favorite is agua dulce (sweet water). Sugar cane is boiled and reduced and then set in conical molds. Yes,sugar cane is also farmed in Costa Rica. The end result is called tapas (lids). Some of this is scraped off and put into boiling water or milk and presto there’s you agua dulce.

Certainly breakfast in Costa Rica is an interesting and enjoyable experience. Source:
