Costa Rica Vacations – Everyone knows what a ‘Casado’ is

Finding the best Costa Rica food is not a difficult task if you live here, but if you are visiting Costa Rica for the first time there are couple of things you need to know prior to visit any restaurant in Costa Rica, no matter if you plan to eat on a small restaurant near a park (local people call these restaurants “sodas”) or in a pricey place in downtown, everyone knows what a ‘Casado’ is.

The Casado is the typical Costa Rican lunch, it includes: rice, beans, plantain, vegetables, salad, tortillasand a piece of meat, chicken or fish.

By the way, at lunch time is also pretty common to see people in Costa Rica having a casado in front of the television, I know it is a bad habit but most Costarican workers keep up to date with the news at 12:30 (Yes I do it too).

Casado in American english means ‘married man’, however if you are a woman having lunch in Costa Rica and suddenly your husband calls you asking what you’re doing, and you reply ‘Hi dear I am having a married man’, you better explain him a what a Casado is otherwise you might be in trouble…

Black Sabbath and Megadeth Concert Costa Rica 2013: Rock mega-legends Black Sabbath and Megadeth will perform at the National Stadium in western San José on Oct. 22. Local promoters RPMTV confirmed the concert of Black Sabbath and Megadeth in Costa Rica and reported that tickets will go on sale at the website www.LaBoleteria.co.cr. Ticket prices range from ₡18,000-₡70,000 ($36-$140), although only 1,000 seats are available for the VIP area, at $140 each. Prices do not include service charges. Black Sabbath and Megadeth concert in Costa Rica is part of their Latin American tour.Black Sabbath will mostly promote its new album, “13″. The album is the 19th for the British band, and the first after founding members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler reunited three years ago. It is also Osbourne’s first record with the band since 1978. Drummer Bill Ward recorded some of the tracks, but was replaced by Brad Wilk, drummer from Rage against the Machine and Audioslave.
